Notices
All pilots be advised that runway 17/35 in LPPT should only be used when required for safety
reasons (i.e. crosswinds or windshear on runway 03) and not for convenience, time or fuel saving.
Pilots should be advised that ICAO rules specify
that callsigns should comply to the following rule:
- three initial letters (eg: AFR, TAP, BAW, IBE),
followed by
- three or fours digits (eg: AFR385, TAP1987, BAW502),
optionally followed by
- one letter to indicate a special flight (eg: TAP454C, BAW017K)
- maximum of 7 total characters in callsign
Alternatively, the pilot can use the aircraft registration such as: CSTKO, GBUSI, FGZCP (note, no "-" used)
Here is an example of incorrect callsigns: TP1872, IB6122, BA500
